We Will Build on Progress We've Made Over Past Four Years - Gov. Buni

H.E Governor Mai Mala Buni has said that his administration will build on the work it has accomplished over the last four years to make Yobe a much better place for all its people.

Gov. Buni spoke in Damaturu this afternoon at the inaugural meeting of his cabinet following the commencement of his second term in office.

The governor pointed to the successes recorded in Yobe’s healthcare, housing, education, rural electrification, empowerment, roads construction, humanitarian interventions, etc over the last four years, and said the administration made demonstrable and measurable progress despite the COVID_19 pandemic and the global economic recession that dominated more than half of his first four years in office.

Gov. Buni therefore tasked members of the cabinet to "think out of the box" and demonstrate real commitment to taking Yobe to a higher place in his second term in office. "We should all focus on continuous improvement. There is nothing like static perfection. It's what we do to add value everyday that's really important. So, let's be proactive", he said.

The governor also asked cabinet members to work as a team, emphasizing that every ministry and every commissioner is an integral part of of the administration's systems approach to governance.

The governor assured that all ongoing projects will be completed and commissioned while new ones will be instituted and executed for the benefit of the people of the state.

H.E Governor Buni also announced the confirmation of the appointments of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Baba Mallam Wali and the Chief of Staff (COS), Alhaji Abdullahi Gashu'a as substantive SSG and COS respectively.
